What LCG Talk is
LCG Talk is an internal communication channel for employees of Lee & Cates Glass and Flat Glass Distributors. Company leadership publishes updates here, and employees read them. The portal and everything on it is company property, provided for employees only.
It is one-way by design. There are no comments, replies, reactions, or messaging of any kind. If you reply to a text from us, the only thing the system reads is a STOP or START keyword; nothing else in your reply reaches anyone.
Your sign-in link is personal
There are no passwords. When a new post goes up, you get a notification containing a sign-in link. It goes to your email if we have an email address on file for you, and to your mobile number otherwise.
That link is personal to you. A link in a notification works one time to sign you in and then stops working; it also expires after seven days. A sign-in link you request yourself expires in fifteen minutes and likewise works once. Once you are signed in, you stay signed in on that device for up to thirty days of use.
Do not forward your link or let anyone else use it. Until it is used, anyone who taps it is signed in as you and sees the portal as you. Treat it like a key to the building.
What is posted here
Content on the portal is informational. Posts may be edited, corrected, or removed at any time.
Nothing on this portal is a contract of employment, changes the terms of your employment, or replaces official company policy. Where portal content and an official policy document disagree, the official policy governs. If something here matters to your pay, benefits, or job, confirm it with your supervisor or HR.
Notifications are only sent during set hours (currently 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern), so a post published late at night reaches you the next morning. No response is expected, and reading posts outside your working hours is not required.
Text messages
If we send your notifications by text:
- Message frequency is approximately 2 to 6 messages per month.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help.
- Opting out does not affect your employment in any way.
- Texts go only to employees who gave written consent, and only when leadership publishes a post or you ask for a sign-in link. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
If a mobile number is the only contact we have for you and you opt out, sign-in links stop arriving too. Ask HR to switch you to email if you would rather read posts that way.
Access ends when employment ends
When your employment ends, your access is turned off: existing sessions stop working and any outstanding sign-in links are voided. Access may also be turned off at any time at the company's discretion, and disabling access does not delete the record of messages already sent.
Privacy
What we collect and how long we keep it is described in our Privacy Policy.
